Meet Our Costa Mesa Eye Doctors
Caring Orange County Family Optometrists
Alissa Wald, O.D. – Managing Doctor
My journey in optometry began after graduating magna cum laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1989. A Michigan native (and Wolverine), I fell in love with Southern California and planted roots here with my family. I have been devoted to providing compassionate, high-quality care to generations of families. My leadership is driven by a simple yet powerful philosophy: to offer the best in eye health services combined with an unparalleled patient experience.
I started my first office OC Eye Designs Optometry in Costa Mesa over 34 years ago. In 2017 I purchased Woodbridge Optometry in Irvine. With over 75 years of combined legacy in these communities, I am committed to continuing the tradition of excellence at both locations.
Whether you visit me in Irvine or Costa Mesa, you’ll find a team of dedicated professionals ready to help you see the world more clearly. From comprehensive eye exams to advanced medical care and latest trends in eyewear, I am here to meet all your eyecare needs.
I invite you to experience the difference at OC Eye Designs Optometry and Woodbridge Optometry —where your vision is the priority, and your care is my passion.
Alyssa Pedroza, O.D.
I was born and raised in Southern California. I knew from a young age that I wanted to work in healthcare and discovered my passion for optometry while obtaining my Bachelor of Biological Sciences degree from the University of California Irvine. I then went on to complete my Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern California College of Optometry, where I graduated summa cum laude.
During my optometric career I received extensive training in primary eye care, specialty contact lenses, dry eyes, and LASIK and cataract surgery co-management. I am certified to treat and manage ocular diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. I enjoy providing thorough and educational eye exams while offering the best preventative treatments. I especially enjoy preventing myopia progression by providing treatment options including orthokeratology overnight contacts, MiSight soft contacts, and atropine eye drops. I also speak clinical Spanish.
When not in the office, I can likely be found at Disneyland trying new food options and riding my favorite attractions. I also enjoy spending my spare time reading fiction novels, going to the beach, and trying new local restaurants.
Jordan Green, O.D.
I was born and raised in Barstow, California, where my interest in eye care began thanks to my hometown optometrist. Before entering the field, I spent more than seven years in the United States Marine Corps, including performing as a French horn instrumentalist in Marine Corps bands. My time in the military strengthened my commitment to service, teamwork, and taking care of people—values that shape the way I care for my patients today.
I graduated summa cum laude from the Southern California College of Optometry and completed advanced clinical training in VA hospitals and private ophthalmology practices. These experiences gave me a strong foundation in primary eye care and the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease.
I have a special passion for helping patients with dry eye disease, ocular disease, and myopia management. One of the most rewarding parts of my work is building long-term relationships with patients and getting to know their unique visual needs. My approach is simple: provide clear explanations, personalized care, and solutions that help people see—and feel—their best.
Outside of the office, I enjoy playing tennis, reading, and spending time with my wife, our young son, and our dog. As a lifelong musician, I still play the French horn and remain an enthusiastic fan of classical music.
My goal is to make every visit comfortable, informative, and positive. I’m grateful for the opportunity to care for individuals and families in our community and look forward to being your trusted eye care provider.
Sheryl Bruce, O.D.
I was born and raised in Southern Illinois, but from an early age I felt a strong connection to Southern California through visits with my aunt. I was drawn to the area’s diversity and energy, which ultimately led me to move to Long Beach in 1986 to attend California State University, Long Beach, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. My path to optometry began while working in a private practice in Torrance, where I discovered my passion for helping patients improve their vision and overall eye health. I went on to earn my Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton in 1997.
With over 25 years of clinical experience, I focus on truly listening to my patients and understanding their concerns. I believe in taking the time to clearly explain diagnoses and treatment options so patients feel confident in their care. I have a special interest in Dry Eye Disease, Myopia Management, and Glaucoma, and my goal is always to optimize vision while helping prevent disease progression.
Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, cooking for gatherings, and reading with my book club. I also love staying active by walking my husky, Kodi, and cheering on my two sons in lacrosse and ice hockey.
